Career Explore Program

Career Explore

Career Explore is a unique program that actively reengages at-risk students in school through career readiness activities that leverage work-based activities and internships. We strive to provide hope for students to create a successful and bright future.

Arvada High School believes all students should be provided with options that will assist them in becoming reengaged learners and career ready, while providing them with various learning options outside of a traditional classroom/school setting to earn a high school diploma.

In an effort to provide all students with an education that leads them to being college and career ready student deemed at-risk to graduate can participate in Career Explore, a work based learning option with a capstone project that demonstrates skill proficiencies. Students are provided with a flexible learning schedule, financial literacy instruction and exposure to various types of industries. Based on their area of interest, students then attend work-readiness trainings at Colorado HomeBuilding Academy, Colorado Area Health Education Center or a local hospitality partner and earn industry certifications and participate in paid internships.

Arvada High School is grateful for the support from Jefferson County Workforce Development and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation to help fund the startup costs for the program. Arvada High School will cover any remaining costs for the students so no student is denied this opportunity.
