The Ascent Program seeks to ensure that all students are given the chance to succeed in the world of higher education by making college coursework and credit more accessible.

Ascent students concurrently complete high school graduation requirements and college coursework to receive transferable college credit at minimal cost.

Jefferson County Public Schools has joined Red Rocks Community College in an exciting partnership to serve a wider range of students, particularly those who represent communities with historically low college participation rates. However, all student applicants are welcome!

Students in the program complete their high school graduation requirements in four years but some of their high school courses will also count as college credits. Students may opt to remain in the program for a fifth year, during which they can complete an Associates Degree through Red Rocks for minimal cost.

Currently, one degree, Associates of Arts, is well into its initial start-up phase. This degree is a transferable Associate of Arts for students who intend to transfer to a 4-year college or university. Qualified students may earn up to 60 college credits that transfer to Colorado colleges and universities.

See the AHS Counseling Office for more information.
